Or never mind an awkward gift
A quick reminder: do not be shocked if it turns out someone other than your better half put that pair of naughty stockings in your Christmas stocking (see also door no 16), for this is a French Christmas and giving away inappropriate gifts to unassuming receivers therefore is totally ok.
France, amongst many wonderful things, is the champion of slippery jokes, also, or especially when audibly told in for us non-French slightly unfitting situations. Like „What do math and lovemaking have in common? The more unknown {variables} the jucier it gets“ etc., ideally told by that jovial uncle at the big family reunion. Hence never mind an awkward gift, should you still opt for a Very Merry French Christmas, enjoy the spice and don’t forget to have fun.
This is Les Poissonchat’s Wondrous Advent Calendar! Advent calendars are a huge tradition where I come from: you make little gifts for your loved ones every day until Christmas Day, fourandtwenty little surprises. The advent calendars come in beautifully old fashioned prints on cardboard, with extra glitter, and each day there’s a paper door waiting for you to pry open. Others are more elaborate, pretty baskets filled with twenty four numbered parcels, decorated with red velvet ribbons. The one I’m making for you this season is altogether a different one, and, quite obviously, it’s about beloved France, Christmas in France, and after all, what it takes to celebrate a proper French Christmas.
Ha I love it ??????
