Here we go with another year almost full. It has been a bit of a rocky ride for me, but brought clarity and purpose. I said in January it would be the year of the reckoning, which has probably hit with more precision than I had imagined with this playful thought. Though, thinking about it, there sure is some paperwork left for next year else I wouldn’t be me, right.
I hope from the bottom of my heart you are in a wonderful place tonight, I for my part am, at home, and for those of you who have known me a little while now, you’ll know that of all the wonderful places in the universe, this is my favourite one. I dug up a couple of lines I wrote a few years ago, about home:
You walk the few steps over to the house, turn the corner and look up into the wintry sky, inhaling the scent of snow and woodburn and river. And as you stand on the threshold a weight glides from your shoulders, a weight up to now you hadn’t been aware of. You turn the handle, open the door and step in.
There’s no place like home for Christmas.
Merry Christmas, sending lots of love, xx
