Les Poissonchats

This is the WHAM! sequel I suppose. When I learnt to ski I was a tiny tot, back in the days there were no queues at the lifts and people would wear anoraks in screaming colours. My skiing teacher probably was very good looking, back in the days skiing teachers all were very good looking, weren’t they. It wasn’t so much about speed back then, but about those elegant curves feet closed and whirling up a cloud of powder when coming to a standstill. We’d serenely ski the day away and trudge home when the late afternoon sky tinted the snow in the deepest of blues, anticipating a bowl of hot chocolate or sweet tea, biscuits and sitting on the tiled oven, feet in thick woolsy socks and cheeks as pink as strawberries in summer.

*This is Les Poissonchats Wondrous Advent Calendar! Advent calendars are a big tradition where I come from: every day until Christmas Day you prepare a small gift for a loved one, fourandtwenty little surprises. Advent calendars come in beautifully old fashioned prints on cardboard, extra glitter and glory, and each day there’s a little perforated window waiting for you be opened.
