Here we are, high summer, the moisson, the harvest of the grain, already in full swing. What a couple of weeks ago still were silvery green fields now has turned into a golden expanse, golden harvested fields and the blue blue sky flocked with cotton candy clouds. It is warm and we eat a lot of ice cream, I recently discovered a fabulous rhum-raisin ice cream made on a neighbouring farm. Rhum-raisin affogato, I suppose you get my gist.
I do have great news for you, we’re adding two more retreats this season! There’s an additional mini retreat taking place on September 28, the topic will be all autumnal and rather light on meat with possibility to fully cater to vegetarian options. It will be mushroom season, cepes and trompettes, also the last of the sun warmed tomatoes. Apples galore, blackberries and the first tender potimarrons of the season. Roasted pruneaux d’agen with goats cheese for apero. And, a sentence that I love repeating each year Indian Summer is approaching: drinking wine with your back against the still warm stone of the wall, watching the sun set. This will be a one-day mini retreat with one lunch and a French dinner including accommodation from Saturday to Sunday and a light French breakfast on Sunday morning. They are absolutely fantastic, don’t you think? If you’d like a similar photoshoot with her at the castle, here’s your chance! Cassandra and I will run a retreat from Saturday 12 October to Sunday 13 October with a 2.5h private photo shooting at the castle, setting in different rooms and scenes with the possibility of out of doors shooting. The retreat includes as well a soirée, a cooking experience on Saturday evening, when you will have the chance to cook an authentic 19th century French dîner with me. We have three shooting slots available, the cost is 450 Euro including the shooting, the soirée, one night’s accommodation and a light French breakfast on Sunday morning.
